Going Interstellar II!

Last year, I heard that two of my space opera short stories were due to be included in Astrobotic’s Peregrine Mission 1 Launder to the Moon. In a payload of memory card with many other authors. #writersonthemoon

THIS YEAR I got the news that my first two stories PLUS the third in the series, Imperatrix, Tertius, which was published in ‘Beyond the Stars: Across the Universe’ in 2021, are going to be added to a ‘Lunar Codex’ in the Polaris Collection – which will be sent on Astrobotic’s Mission 3 Griffin Lander. Scheduled for launch 2023/24. This will be sent to the Lunar South Pole, Polaris. So all three in my series are heading to the Moon. This is so exciting! Already on the 2022 Peregrine mission, all authors’ stories are now included in the 2023/24 Astrobotic Griffin/NASA VIPER/SpaceX mission to the Lunar South Pole!

As I’m a tag along to an official manifest place, I’m also, technically, a stowaway… I quite like the sound of that too. 😉 Now indexed in the Lunar Codex.

Beyond the Stars!

I’ve been holding onto this news for a while, now I’m so happy to announce it. My space opera novelette, ‘Imperatrix, Tertius’, third in the Imperatrix series, has been accepted to Beyond the Stars: Across the Universe, the latest in the Beyond the Stars series (the ones which are going to the Moon! #writersonthemoon). And it’s out now! I really enjoyed working on this one and I’m so pleased it found a home here along with its predecessors. Big thank you to Richard and Patrice.

Blurb: When First Warrior Daire is escorting Empress Ataraxia to meet a potential consort, their imperial flotilla comes under attack. Captured by pirates and about to be auctioned on a slaver’s block, Daire struggles to find a way to save his beloved empress while keeping his own roiling emotions in check.

On its first day it reached #1 on Amazon for Hot New Releases and #5 in the Bestseller Top 100 Paid.

BEYOND THE STARS: ACROSS THE UNIVERSE includes fantastic, original space opera tales from  David Bruns, Jack Lyster, Cindy Hung, Jenny Thomas, Nemma Wollenfang, Nadya Duke and Tom Farmer. Commissioned art by the awesome Julie Dillon (it’s so beautiful!) and cover design by Kendall Roderick. Edited by Patrice Fitzgerald and Richard Leslie.

Going Interstellar!

Amazing news! This year, I’m on track for achieving something I never thought possible. I’m GOING TO THE MOON! ✨?‍??? (Kind of, sort of… figuratively speaking) Basically, due to Dr. Susan Kaye Quinn’s very cool ‘Writers on the Moon Initiative’, 150+ authors will be sending up their digital books as part of Astrobotic’s Mission 1 payload this June. The payload itself is comprised of “resource development, scientific investigation, technology demonstration, exploration, marketing, arts, and entertainment” from 8 different countries. And thanks to the wonderful Patrice Fitzgerald that will include the entire BEYOND THE STARS – Space Opera Anthology Series – and every contributor therein. Volumes 6 & 7 contain my space opera short stories ‘Imperatrix’ and ‘Imperatrix, Redux’ – which are not only ‘on theme’ for this venture but are personal favourite works. So I’m absolutely, nerdily, thrilled! They will be delivered by the Peregrine Lunar Lander to Lacus Mortis (the Lake of Death) on the Northern near-face (yes, I looked it up). It’s set for launch in June, and scheduled to land in July (although the timing of this is subject to change). There’s more information in the links below. Some of you have already heard about this project, I know some of you are on board too *waves*. I can’t wait to join you guys in space! Does this make us the first authors to be extra-terrestrially published? #writersonthemoon
