Earlier in the year, I found out that my sci-fi novel-in-progress, I Phoenix, was a finalist in the Ink & Insights Novel Award 2019. Well, as it turns out… I won Second Place! It was also selected as a Judges’ Favourite. In previous years, I’ve made the Top Ten Finalists with other developing novels, but this is the first time I’ve landed a spot in the top 3, and I’m thrilled. More details of my entry and other winners can be found here.
Ink & Insights is a rather unique award in that wherever you rank in the contest, win or lose, you still gain critiques from 4 different judges on your submission. In this way, it makes the entry fee really worth it. As the commentary can really help to hone your writing skills.
If the contest is of interest to any writer friends, there’s still time to get an entry in – but only just. This years deadline is 30th June. It’s open to unpublished and self-published work. First 10K words, plus synopsis. Details here.
