September 2018

This has been a month for contributor copies! Three different selections arrived in the post. There’s nothing quite like that feeling when you rip open a parcel to find your words in print under such beautiful cover art. The words ‘My Precious…’ come to mind.

Anyway, here they are. First, and most recent, are my copies of Robots & Artificial Intelligence Short Stories, another in Flame Tree’s growing Gothic Fantasy series. This book contains the revised version of my short SF-romance story, GOD is in the Rain (which first appeared in A Bleak New World by Raven International Publishing). I’m thrilled to be a part of this collection, appearing alongside such esteemed company as: Ambrose Bierce, Carlo Collodi and Edward Page Mitchell, as well as a range of fantastic new writers, like: Roan Clay, Rob Hartzell,  Trixie Nisbet and Sara Uckelman and many more. And they arrived in time for the Nantwich Writers’ Fair.

Second, is this little duo from Dragon’s Roost Press – Hidden Menagerie Volumes 1 & 2 – which encompasses an array of tales about cryptids from around the world (From the Loch Ness Monster and Big Foot to the Mothman and the Man-eating Tree). My dark historical number, ‘Springheeled Jack: The Terror of London’ appears in Volume 1. Big thanks to the editor for selecting it, and for sending these copies. The cover art simply is gorgeous. And a portion of the proceeds from all sales also go to the Last Day Dog Rescue Organization.

Third, is this surprisingly large volume of Dark Voices by Lycan Valley Press. A perfect Halloween treat! ‘Voices are meant to be heard. Darkness amplifies sound. And Dark Voices cannot be silenced.’ A compilation of work by some of the most talented female horror writers of today. It contains my short crime-horror ‘Loving Rose’ and I absolutely adore the cover art. This is another charity anthology and proceeds from sales go towards supporting Breast Cancer Now.
