Nantwich Writers’ Fair

Yesterday, the Vale Royal Writers’ Group had a stall at the Nantwich Writers’ Fair. I was there to help man it along with fellow writers, David Varley and Debbie Bennett (author of ‘Hamelin’s Child’). David made everyone laugh with his awesome poetry about mosquitoes, we talked to several new writers, and even sold a few books. Along with our writers’ group’s anthologies there were several member’s books on display, including Debbie Bennett’s , Ruth Elliott-Smith’s, Carolyn O’Connell’s and Tom Ireland’s. It was wonderful to see them all together in print. Copies of the Flame Tree anthologies which include several of my stories had a corner, and there was room for Masked Hearts and A Bleak New World on the stand too. There was a workshop on-going through the morning and in the afternoon we got to hear work from local poets during the open mic event. All in all, a good day. Big thanks to Crewe and District Writers’ Circle for having us!
