May 2018

Three pieces of news this month:

Firstly, my contributor copy of Beyond Steampunk arrived in the post! My story, Call of the Kinguyakkii, appears in this little treasure. Along with a whole cadre of tales by the likes of Alex Shvartsman, Joseph Cadotte, Kelly A. Harmon, Stewart Baker, Anne E. Johnson, Patrick Baker, Caitlin Marceau, David Hoenig and more. Old Sins have done a wonderful job, it’s a beautiful book.

Secondly, I found this in Northwich’s Lion Salt Works Museum after a friend pointed it out. May’s issue of Ourtown Magazine includes an article on me as last year’s winner of Northwich LitFest’s Short Story Competition, and what writerly adventures I’ve been embarking on since. The gorgeous cover of Flame Tree Publishing’s upcoming release, ‘Robots & AI’, which I have a story appearing in, has a space too. And, I hear, three members of the VRWG are on the competition shortlist this year! Congratulations Liz, Bill and Linda!

Thirdly, I’m thrilled to be able to say I have 2 stories appearing in this swanky volume of Her Dark Voice. An original, ‘Loving Rose’ and a reprint, ‘The Spark’. I let out little author squeals of joy at some of the names on the Table of Contents too. Can’t believe I’ll be keeping such esteemed company. It’s a charity anthology and proceeds go to support Breast Cancer Now. Release date is set for July but pre-orders are now live, along with a raffle. And there are some pretty awesome prizes up for grabs… Signed Supernatural print, anyone? How about autographed photos from the Buffy and Angel cast? More info in the link here. 😉 #BreastCancerNow #HerDarkVoice2
